According to the American Water Works Association (AWWA) standards, all new water mains must be disinfected before they can go into service. In addition, all existing water mains and water holding tanks that have been removed from service for inspections, repairs, or other activities must be disinfected before returning to service.
Preventing contamination of water lines is essential in both new potable distribution lines as well as existing water distribution lines that have been compromised due to repairs or during maintenance.
Global Treat’s newest product, the Chlori-Flush Water Disinfection System offers an effective disinfection solution to rid systems of potentially harmful pathogens, therefore preventing contamination. The Chlori-Flush is a vacuum-based system that requires no pumping. The lightweight design is portable and easy to maintain and can be used for both chlorination and de-chlorination.
Chlori-Flush Process (Continuous Feed Method):
- The blow-off or fire hydrant is opened on the end to be chlorinated.
- Either calcium hypochlorite Ca(ClO)2 granules or NSF grade liquid bleach is placed in the Chlori-Flush Tank (according to the chart on the tank)
- Water main line is opened and water is allowed to flow through the Chlori-Flush
- Chemicals can be adjusted and regulated.
